Emerging from the South Mountain Highlands of Pennsylvania, Ryan’s early love for the progression of science and helping others with that science led him down the path of chemistry. Spearheading his graduate years with an ambitious and collaborative mindset, Ryan ended up being authored on 38 publications and 4 patents. Most important to Ryan was the impact he could have on patients' lives and worked towards translating his graduate work into a commercialized product. Although unable to see it through, Ryan was bit by the entrepreneurship bug and soon after joined Translate Bio in 2019 where he developed several potent ionizable lipids for mRNA vaccine applications. After T-Bio’s acquisition to Big Pharma, it was clear for Ryan to return to the startup world. Not only is it a perfect opportunity to contribute to innovation, but a chance to be a source of insight to aid others in better understanding chemistry (Because let’s be honest, it isn’t easy!). Now a part of Kernal Biologics, Ryan’s current goal is to shatter the paradigms of oncology treatment and bring forward effective and safe therapeutics interventions to benefit the lives of so many. Outside of science, Ryan tries to stay out of trouble by cooking, weightlifting, hiking, and snowboarding.
